My daughter goes every morning to daycare-she has been for a year now, same time every day,and she gets upset every single day, she's so sad I'm leaving she cries every day. I don't know what to do, or say, or how to handle it.

As well. she just started dance class-which parents are not allowed to view-it's been wonderful...but the last dance class...as soon as she see's me leaving, she attaches herself to my leg crying. We ended up leaving dance class, and going home..but I don't want her to think we can do that every week, and I also don't want to leave her crying.

Please help.

At first I was going to suggest that you consider switching child care providers...but the second part of your post makes me think that your daughter is just suffering from separation anxiety.  I'll admit that I know nothing about dance classes...but I do find it more than a little odd that parents are not allowed to watch.

Would it help your daughter to carry a picture of you with her?  You could laminate it and put it in her pocket.  She could pull it out and look at it whenever she wanted.

I'm sorry...I don't know if anything but time will help this.  It must be so difficult.

I agree with Tall girl - it does sound like separation anxiety. I have heard of the dance thing - its supposed to prevent distraction.

You just need to explain to her that she needs to go to day care, and dance - and that you wont forget about her, and you will miss her when shes gone, but she will have fun. It must beark your heart when she cries!!! GOod luck, let us know how it goes.
