I just saw the name of this section and thought I'd say to anyone out there who is unsure if they are going to breastfeed or bottle feed.  If you breastfeed, you won't regret it!!!   Best darn thing I ever did!!!  I never, ever in a million years thought I would be the type to be able to do that but boy oh boy, I did!  And, I'm proud to say that my baby was a breastfed baby until she was 15 months old -- she is now 18 months.  Not once did she ever see a bottle of formula.  I guess I am just proud of the fact that I did it!  Just realizing that you and your partner brought this life into this world, then you (as momma) sustain it, it's an amazing experience!  That's all -- just feeling happy to be a momma today and every day!

I agree completely.  I am very conservative, so I thought that I would have a lot of trouble breast-feeding.  I also thought that I would never, ever breastfeed in public, or in front of anyone except my DH and mother.

Breast-feeding has been an incredibly fulfilling experience.  And I was completely shocked to find that once I was comfortable with bf'ing, I could do it anyplace.

I, too, am a bf'ing advocate.  I breastfed both of my boys and didn't have any issues.   Before bf'ing I''d heard all of the horro stories about how much it hurts, cracked nipples, bleeding nipples, etc.   I didn't experience any of that.

It doesn't hurt at all, and is the  most incredible experience ever.   Best food for baby, best bonding, best for mom's body, most convenient, cheapest.   Too many reasons to not  bf.

Ditto, ditto, ditto to everyone's replies!  BFing was the best thing I ever did and when another little one comes along, there won't be a question - there never really was when Aleisha was born; it was my decision and the best darn one for her!
