So I guess I'll tell ya'll about myself a little..

I'm 24, a culinary student in my second and final year of school, engaged to be married, and my honey and I just found out last week that we're expecting our first ever baby!

I'm really really excited, and so is everyone else.. I'm about 6 weeks now.. I know.. its like I've been pregnant for 5 minutes.. And already i'm like freaking out!! My friends all seemed so calm when they found out they were expecting.. But not me!

I keep worrying if everything is going according to plan in there.. Is my little sprinkle getting what it needs? Am I doing the right things? What if something goes wrong?

Last week, just after finding out I was pregnant I started to get cramps, not like period cramps but little cramps that would last for a few minutes then go away..

This week morning sickness also seemed to hit me like a ton of bricks.. and now that I am pregnant I noticed that my migraines have been getting more intense and frequent... I've had 2 in the last 4 days.. Is this norma?! Is it ok for the baby? I haven't been taking any medication and toughing them out because I don't even have my first baby doctor appointment until next week... and now.. I think I'm getting a cold.

Am I crazy for worrying about it all? Have any of you guys went through anything similar? What about a cold? Is that dangerous?

Much appreciated for reading through my rant of paranoid ramblings... Any advice is very welcome!

Morning Sickness

Thanks...

Implantion bleeding or not?

Ok, so i'm not 100% sure if i'm pregnant yet, waiting for the bloodwork to come back. Number 4 for me and numero 6 for DH. I am thinking it's about time TLC gave us our own show!!!!
Ok, guess I should go back a bit.
Hi! I'm writing from Yellowknife, NT. I am 26 years old, engaged to a wonderful man, and together, this will be our 6th child. He has two from previous relationships and I have one plus we have two, now three together. It makes for a busy house! Oh yeah, and can't forget Mater, we bought a Bullmastiff just after Christmas! Just moved into a small apartment since our house was being turned into "commercial" property.
So now, my jobs around the house just went up! Oh and did I mention that like not even two months ago we sold ALL our old baby stuff since we were planning on waiting another year before jumping back on the baby train! Well, at least I can be thankful that I won't be pregnant during our wedding next summer, and I won't be hugely pregnant during the summer!!!!!!! LOL
I really am excited about this baby as I always wanted a large family and I know that DH and I are good parents! SO
I would like to take this opportunity to say Hello, to everyone on this site and I look forward to sharing pregnancy tips and stories with you all!

Amanda

Anyone Single and Pregnant or am I the only one?

Its not what I would have planned but I find myself, but I am 7 months pregnant and the father has shown no interest in being involved. I think if left to my own, I would'nt feel so bad about it, but with EVERYONE constantly asking me about the father and making assumptions about how happy he must be, its very depressing sometimes. Everything is geared towards happy couples having babies together. I just want everyone to know I'm a happy (all beit very tired and sick) single mother having another baby and I can't wait to meet my new bundle of joy!

FREAKING OUT, WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME?

Hello there everyone!....at least that was a friendly one! I love being a mom, even though it's been harder than I thought. My husband and I are very excited about our newest addition. Madison is also excited about being a big sister. I've tried the crackers and the toast, I even got a homeopathic thing from the pharmacy, sea bands, I'm still sick!

If anyone else has had severe morning sickness(what a joke that is) "morning"
I would love to know what you did. I'm missing soo much work and if I don't do something I'm going to have to take sick leave I'm thinking.
Sex on pregnancy...

Is that possible for women?
Paul Weinstock

miscarriages

Hey, I'm new. The doctor told me today I'm 5 weeks 3 days with my first child.

I've read that 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage but most of them are first pregnancies and they often happen so early that the woman usually doesn't even know she was ever pgt. That being said, I remember seeing a big lump during my period a couple of months ago but it was a normal period... still I wondered if it was a misscarriage.. I mean, we were TTC.

So, what do you guys think? I really don't want to misscarry now that I know I'm in my 6th week. Do you think maybe I already had a misscarriage and would that increase my chances of keeping this one? I guess my main question is, does anyone out there know of any tips to avoid misscarriages?

Pregnancy symptoms this soon?

Hey,
I could use a little help. I'm late for my period, my last period started on Jan 24th and ended on Jan 29 and its now March 4th. I recently have been sexually active with my ex boyfriend (from Feb 21st-24th), we have been using condoms but its usually always half way threw intercourse that he puts it on. I'm not on birth control, but the last few days iv been experiencing nausea, fatigue, dull cramps, and my breast and nipples are tender and sore. Is it possible im having pregnancy symptoms this early? This will be my second pregnancy, but i didn't have symptoms with my first pregnancy till almost three weeks into my pregnancy. Sadly my first one ended in a miscarriage. Its definitely to early to take a home pregnancy test, and i don't wanna get my hopes up. Any advice or suggestions would be very helpful! We found out about a month ago, and I made an appointment with my doctor right away.

The doctors secretary said that they didn't schedule pre-natal appointments until the 3rd month, so I went ahead and booked it for then.

However, in the last month or so, I've come up with many concerns and questions that I would like to be able to discuss with my doctor, and whenever I attempt to reach her office, she's unavailable.

Is it typical to have such little contact with the doctor during the first 3 months? I would have to go to the hospital right away.
Does anyone know anything about this or maybe has had this before.
I've been instructed to take it easy and rest, not do much.
I'm 23 weeks, for how long is this going to go on for?? I'm excited in one way because we are having a baby that can wear all my sons old clothes, and reuse all the cute shoes, but then I also feel at a lost because I have nothing to prepare for before this little one comes. If it had been a girl I would have gone pink crazy, and looked forward to doing pigtails, and dressing up dolls and all that girl stuff. We have decided to keep the gender a secret from most of our friends, which is hard because everyone is guessing a girl cause i carry differently, but I don't want to ruin the suspense for my friends because i have a fear that no one will be excited that this little baby is coming, because i've had a boy and i've done it before ,lol. I know I will love this little one as much no matter what and thank god so far everything looks healthy, but I don't know how to get excited for this baby. I feel like I need to prepare for something but have nothing to prepare for..... I want to be over the moon excited

I know thats all confusing but does anyone know how I feel?

Abdominal Cerclage

Hi Everyone! Just updating everyone on what's happening. Tomorrow I go for an ultra-sound & then a meeting with the doctors. They are planning a risky surgery & I am extrememly nervous. The surgery will be done in a couple of weeks. In it's history in Winnipeg it's only been performed 4 times. My doctor at least has performed 2 of them. Anyway, if everyone could keep us in their prayers we would greatly appreciate it. Abdominal cerclage is a surgery I have never heard of so if anyone has heard of it, I'd love to get some feedback on it. What is it?

I'm at 36 weeks and having a c-section at 38 weeks. I've had high blood pressure and have been closely monitored. At today's appointment it was very high and the Doc told me to meet her at the hospital on Friday for a non-stress test. Can anyone tell me what that is? I'm not too good with the unknown! She also said we don't want to have to take the baby out before week 37! Yikes does that mean my baby might be born this week????!!!

It all seems so silly with only 2 weeks to go! Help!

Jodi

How many ultrasounds have you had?

I'm almost through my second pregnancy. With baby #1 I had 1 ultrasound at about 16 weeks. With this baby I'm going for my 5th ultrasound on Monday! Nothing is wrong, they're just for "growth" but WOW! So many! How many has anyone else had?

New to the boards!

Hi everyone. I just found this board and wanted to introduce myself. I just got my BFP yesterday, and have an EDD of May 11, 2009 and am so excited! This is my first pregnancy and I am pretty clueless about some things, so I will probably be asking questions like there is no tomorrow hehe.

3 weeks away from baby #2...doesn't seem real yet!

I'm having baby #2 in 3 weeks (Oct. 3, 2008). I was wondering if there is anyone out there who is a high risk pregnancy? I would really like to get feed back about your experiences & how you handled the stress of a high risk pregnancy. I'm absolutely lost, & can't find much information online since my situation includes a few complications. If you can help I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm new to this site. I'm pregnant for the first time and my baby is due in September. I'm very happy and excited but also a little concerned at the same time. I'm pretty scared about the actual giving birth process but I guess every woman is. Anyways, it would be great to meet other moms-to-be or already-moms to share thoughts. I just moved to Barrie, Ontario a couple of months ago and still don't really know anyone. Well, hopefully everyone here is well and maybe I'll talk to you soon. Take care.

Easy pregnancy = tough delivery?

I'm sure this is just heresay but a few people have told me that an easy pregnancy means a tough delivery and vice versa -- a tough pregnancy means birthing will be a breeze. Any thoughts on this? Is there any truth to it?

OBGYNE Referral - Georgetown Hospital

Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering if someone can refer an OBGYNE in Georgetown Hospital.
