My 3 year old son is the same way. He isn't always crying but if he can't get his own way oh boy you can see and hear the waterworks start!!! I've done the same thing as you have by saying that the only way is to stop crying then we could talk. It's very embarrasing and I'm worried what it will be like over Xmas this weekend when in laws celebrate early. I've even noticed that he cries at nursery school. I'm totally baffled on why he does it and at my wits end. Dh and I want to also have another baby but with one like this it's starting to scare me out of wanting another one. Whenever they don't get their own way about absolutley anything, they cry. It is a very annoying cry. They have tears and cry VERY loudly. I don't have sympathy for them like I do if they are hurt, because this cry is different from a hurt cry. It is sort of a cry/scream. I try telling them I can't talk with them until they can talk with big girl voices, but they cry more and harder until I eventually lose my patience.
