The best advice I can offer is watch what you eat. Don't binge out on junk food. Even if you aren't very interested, try a salad, nutritious breakfasts. It is also well known that a balanced diet (three meals a day at regular times), also helps. I'm one of the fortunate ones to have gained only 34 pounds and subsequently lost it the day my DD was born. Also, some people think that they have to stop exercising -- no! Unless you have specific reasons, there's no reason to stop going for walks, going to aerobics, swimming, tennis....the one activity I did stop was playing competitive fastball -- I didn't want to hurt my unborn baby. I continued to play squash right up until the league's sessions ended (I was about 7 months pregnant). I continued to take my two large breed dogs for walks (when it didn't feel uncomfortable down there). If you aren't an exerciser, don't go hog wild if you start, start off slow and work yourself up. Also, speaking with your family doctor will probably help too. I hope this helps!

RE: no longer an "oh No" worry

45 isn't as bad as a friend of mine who gained 100 with both kids and she is very small. I am very big and gained 26 with my first and 16 with my second (after he was out and the swelling was gone I actually lost 26lbs) Best diet I was ever on!

Anyway, the best thing I did was stop eating junk food. Ok not completely but it wasn't something I ate each day. I also didn't fall into the "it's for the baby" thinking as I swallowed chips, chocolate, donuts......If I ate it, it was for me. I ate snacks. I would not have made it through the day without snacking. At least twice, sometimes 3 times a day. BUT, I would snack on things like yogurt, pretzels, fruits, veggies, pickles, rice cakes, granola bars, muffins (the better for you ones), plus I would eat 3 meals a day also. Staying active as much as your belly will allow will also help, go swimming, walking, biking, dance, clean house vigorously or have great sex!

RE: no longer an "oh No" worry

I too gained 45 pounds with my first, and with my next pregnancy im going to do yoga - i have a couple DVD's, and i want to keep walking on my treadmill. BUT does anyone have any helpful tips to keep your weight while pregnant from sky rocketing!!!! I gained 45 pounds and still haven't lost all of it from my first pregnancy, I was still really active and I'm a really small person, but I don't know how to keep the weight from packing on. I know it sounds pretty shallow but it's hard to feel like your living in somone elses body.

If anyone knows anything helpful that would be awesome!!!

thanks again
