While I wouldn't name my own child something out of the norm, I don't judge other parents who do decide to go for something different.

RE: What happened to normal names?

I smell a troll......

RE: What happened to normal names?

While I can see your point that some names may be harder for people to live with, I don't think that most people have than intention. (Isn't there a song about a "Boy Named Sue"...or something like that?) However, the way you've gone about voicing your opinion is rather harsh. We live in the age of choice, and different names can be interesting to have. Also, if people truly HATE their names, there are ways that they can change them when they are older, either by simply going by a different name, or by legally changing their name.

Besides, sometimes it wouldn't be so great being named "Richard". Think of the nickname that has fallen out of favour for that one!

Kids (and adults) can be cruel, and it doesn't matter what you name your child; on the playground they're going to be made fun of for something at some point. You can count on it.

RE: What happened to normal names?

I cannot believe that you would say that on here! This forum is not a place to insult people. Although you have a right to your opinion you do not have the right to put people down on here. People can name their kids whatever they want, I really don't see how it affects you.

What happened to normal names?

In everyone's quest to be different these days, kids are ending up with the most ridiculous names. Not only that, the 'different' names are now the most commom. What ever happened to Richard and Charles or Janet and Susanne? Are you 'different' parents aware of the fact that your child has to live with this name for all eternity? The names Taylah, Apple, Linkin and Aydin are STUPID, get a life people!!!
