The father of my baby is a 32 year old man who already has 3 boys of his own, we were together for only one month when I found out I was pregnant. We stayed together for almost 3 months after that until I come to find out that he had a WIFE! This man was such a lire and for some reason left out quite a bit of the truth about his life, in my eye's he was living a double life and neither his wife or I knew about it. Now I have this little girl growing inside of me who he is now saying that is not his child & I will have to raise on my own. My little girl deserves a great father but I can't give her that! Why do some men have to be so stupid at times? No offence to all the great men & fathers out there! I learned from my mistake thats for sure, but dose anyone have any advice?

What to buy dad/husband for holidays???

What are you buying your husband/father/partner/FIL for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, what-have-you...this holiday season? To do so, I am recruiting fathers who live in the GTA and have at least one child and understand and/or describe themselves as being an involved parent – what that means is up to you.

This research will involve an interview of approximately 60 minutes which will take place at a location of your convenience. During this time we will discuss fathers’ parenting practises and ideas about gender. You will have the opportunity to talk about what being an involved father means to you and your family.

In order to allow for a comparative analysis, I will also ask for information about age, family background, ethnic identity and occupational history. You are free to discontinue the interview at any time or to skip questions.

If you have questions about the study, please feel free to contact myself, or my supervisor, Professor Bonnie Fox. Due to the threat of spam, this information is available on the Sociology department website.

Thank you for considering participation in this study. I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in participating in this study or receiving more information.

Yours Sincerely,
Judy Beglaubter
involvedfathers@gmail.com

FACULTY ADVISOR:
Bonnie Fox
Professor

New piggy bank testers needed

Hi there.
Edward Jones has these really cool four-slot piggy banks -- donations; savings; investments; spending.

I saw one the other day and thought it would be great if we could get some mom/dad/kid testers to see how kids respond. I can't wait to have his babies!! (hopefully next year!!we'll be TTC as of our honeymoon-the wedding is April 29)

We share many of the same views on parenting and he is open and respectful of all of my suggestions. I am fortunate to have met his sons early on in their lives-they were 3 and 4 when I met them and we started living together.

There's lot of things I could share with you about him-he's a caring partner, romantic Latino (born in Chile), well-respected and dedicated family physician, honorable church-goer (ok, so we're a bit oldfashioned, but not in every way ) a supportive son to his parents (he's an only child) and he's an amazing Dad! I'm so happy to share my life with him! (he would want me to be sure to mention that he does all of our floors, and puts on the garbage, keeps the bed waaaayy to warm..lol, and he spoils me like a princess)

Here's the pics I promised!

At one of my recent showers:

The night we got engaged (he's smiling cuz I said YES!)

Hamming it up on New Years!

(sorry for the sore necks!)

With his happy family:

I have the best husband

Do I have the best husband, or what?

Yesterday when we got home from town, our 2-year-old daughter puked all over herself. She was still in the van, so it got all over her, her carseat, her blanket...but remarkably, not on the van interior itself. I had bought a lot of shrubs and bushes to plant in our yard, and really wanted to do it last night because I didn't know when else I'd have time. My husband took care of our little girl for almost two hours while I worked out in the yard. They played outside for a little while, but then she wanted to go inside (a sure indicator that she's not feeling well! She loves to be outside.) She vomited three or four more times, wouldn't eat or drink anything. He hosed off the carseat, bathed her twice, ran two loads of laundry, and finally put her to bed. Even after I came in the house, he looked after her because then the baby needed more attention, so I looked after him. My daughter is very much "daddy's girl", so she would rather have him look after her than me, given the choice. Luckily, her bug seemed to last only about 4-5 hours, and she was in bed even earlier than usual.

He's such a great daddy. Not even a word of comlaint. The thing about this is that it is not unusual behaviour for him. It's totally in character. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father for our kids.

Fathers Day is coming!

Just wondering what other people are getting their husbands for fathers day? Is your husband spending fathers day at home or will he spend the day doing guy stuff?

I got my fathers day idea for a parent magazine and made him a kids book A-Z style with all photos of our family, house, pets, friends etc for dad to read with Kalli as she grows up, I thought it is a great way to learn about family members especially ones that don't live here! I also bought him a book and a CD. And for Fathers Day I will leave him all afternoon to spend one and one time with baby as that is what I got for Mothers Day while he went mtn biking...haha! (As if I could leave my baby all afternoon, who am I kidding!)

Just interested in what others are doing?

T

Canadian Dad

Back from a bit of a hiatus with school and parenting.

I am back at my blog Canadian Dad.

Pass it around to all the guys in the family.

<a href="http://www.canadiandad.ca" target=_"blank" class="SmlLinks">http://www.canadiandad.ca
