When you and your friends want to meet to discuss parenting issues, where do you usually go?

Be as specific as you can!

Thank you,
Susan

Hi there, Usually for me it's a phone call. Because sometimes that's all there seems to be time for. But if it's not then it's a visit to one anthers house. This makes everything easier. The kids play, we talk and drink coffee. There's no public pressure to have children perfectly dressed or to worry that someone will over heard your conversation about your many pregnancy ailments (ie- hemroids)

When we do manage to go out, say for dinner or coffee, it's a children free visit and we try to talk about other things.

Hope that helps.

thanks!

So, if it's a child-free outing with your friends, it's Starbucks kind of meeting place?

I usually talk on the phone as I'm chasing after my kids. Sometimes I am online chatting or messaging back and forth with them. When I'm actually seeing my friends in person it is usually a playdate at either house, at church since most of my friends go to the same one, and I also go scrapbooking. I have a group of people meet at our church and we get to hang out and chat about everything and since most of us are moms a lot of the time it's about what's going on in our recent lives.

It would probably be more like Tim Hortons then Starbucks (eiseir to find, closer, less expencive) Or drinks out at a resturant where we can also munch on something.

In our neighbourhood one of the moms started a google group. Anyone can post a question/issue/topic/event and anyone can reply. It has been active for about 2 years and now has over 75 members. It has been a valuable tool for me. It really helps me feel connected to my community.

Once a week we have a baby group.  Every mom takes her turn hosting it.  This way you can chat and the children have a chance to play.

Thank you!

Both virtual and RL mom groups.

Just talking over your situations with other moms sure makes you feel sane, doesn't it?
