I am interested in hearing from those of you who went back to work how you deal with weaning.  I don't want to quit BF but in 10 weeks I go back to work 3 days per week.  Kalli is still nursing every 3 hours and is 10 months old.  Did some of you breast feed on days when you were home and not while you were at work...did you quit the daytime feeds the times when you would be working so there is no confusion.  I don't know what to do.  Pumping is out for me...

Let me know.

Thanks.

Your baby is still breastfeeding a fair amount for 10 months. My ten month old breastfeeds about 4 times a day because she loves food and is more interested in feeding herself. I have just introduced a little whole milk with meals and she really likes that. Does your baby eat other foods or is she getting most of her nutrition from breastmilk? If she does eat food and will take a bottle of milk or formula I wouldn't worry too much, just make sure to nurse her right before you leave for work and as soon as you come home if you don't want to pump at all at work. I also work three days a week and need to work the breastfeeding around that and I really don't like to pump milk but so far things are great and my daughter is still interested in breastfeeding which makes me happy because I don't want to wean yet.

Thanks for your reply, I feel good to know this can be done.  Yes Kalli BF alot for 11 months.  Most of her hydration comes from BM.  She does get whole milk and water at meal times. but would prefer my milk which is ok with me.  A great weight loss program! haha

She eats solids there isn't much she won't eat but still loves to nurse in between.

Hopefully we can get through the first couple of working days and get a routine sorted out.

Thanks again for the post!

Tina
